A More Embarrassing Side to the Pokey Chatman Resignation

Here's a quote from the New York Times' article on Chatman attributed to LSU athletic director Skip Bertman:

Referring to Chatman, Bertman told the Times-Picayune, "The girl did what she did and L.S.U. had no control over that."

The girl? Hey Skip, please join us here in 2007 whenever you're ready...

And in case anyone needs clarification, I'm charging Skip with sexism, not racism, since both Bertman and Chatman are African-American...

You'll have to excuse Skip... I'm not sure that the state of Louisiana has flipped its calendars to 2007 yet...

I've sort of been abstaining from the world of sports a bit (except for actual games), but I did read that quote and was surprised that the article didn't stop right there and immediately jump into a new sidebar.

In two years when it is revealed that Coach K had a special relationship with Wojo, I don't expect Alleva to refer to Krzyzewski as "that boy."

But it would be great if he did!
