Camp with Shav!

Perhaps it was fate that on a rainy night, Big Red broke down next to a sub shop. While licking my wounds and waiting for a ride, I scanned the N&O sports section and discovered an ad for the First Annual Shavlik Randolph Basketball Camp! That's right, for only $200 campers can hone their skills with one of America's best. The ad also included a quote, where Shav insists that with God's help, you can accomplish anything, adding at the end, it's all about the journey. That's right sports fans, Shav has finally understood the Gospel of G.

And while the ad does not explicitly state so, it can be assumed that campers better not bring their gayness on the counselors.

Somewhat sad that after an illustrious high school career, and a playing career at Duke (I couldn't think of any adjective that might fit there other than just "playing"), and some time in the NBA, Shavlik will forever be known as that homophobic guy who's scared that someone might bring his gayness to him.

Actually, it's not sad. As my Bible tells me, you reap what you sow... Shavlik's homophobia will be his legacy.

Wait... The Dude reads the Bible?

The Bible is a notable work of fiction that should be read by most folks. It's in the same category as Grapes of Wrath and 1984 for its significance. I've read the Bible - frankly, it's hard to avoid it when it's in every hotel room.

One of my coworkers told her class that the Bible was magical realism. Just a note, if you teach in the Bible Belt, that's not a great idea.

I think that you people should find something to do with your lives other than living it bashing sucessfull folks. Here is a good one for you, while Shav is out making "GREAT" money, most of you are still awaiting a chance to speak to him. While Shav is getting paid, most of you are......... well you get my drift. STOP BEING LOSERS!!!!
