One Year Ago: Andre's Last Stand

DudeSpin would like to take some time to remember what happened one year ago yesterday - Andre Agassi's final competitive tennis match against Benjamin Becker in the US Open. His brief speech at the end ranks as one of the greatest sports speeches of all time in my book. We miss you Andre!

Well played, Dude.
Agassi ranks in my top three of favorite athletes all-time, and the three matches last year, especially the win over Baghdatis, were sterling, even if he didn't get a chance to bow out more appropriately against Roddick in the fourth round. I always hate losing my "boyhood" idols, because you can find new dudes to root for, but never the same as those you grew up with.

So we've got Agassi and Barbaro, but who's the other athlete to round out the top three?

Barbaro isn't top three -- maybe top 10. Dirk is in the pantheon, probably joined by Modano, though from a boyhood idol standpoint, Ruben Sierra would pass Modo.
