Better Than the Famous Cal-Stanford Play?

You be the judge! I'd say it's the single most amazing play I've ever seen on a football field...

It's one of those things where you wonder if that can only happen in a Division III game, as opposed to DI or the NFL, because defenders aren't as fast and strong, or if teams don't give it enough of a shot. In most games where teams are down to that, they seem to lateral once, and then the second guy just gives up and goes down.

I think you are right on both counts. I think it is less likely to happen at a higher level, but I also think that teams don't give it enough of a shot. A play like that really takes the commitment of everyone on the offense - a couple of the o-linemen got involved! - and at the NFL level I'm not sure that would ever happen.

it almost happened a year ago at the end of the Jets-Indy game, where Chad Pennington got involved after 3 or four laterals and threw an across the field lateral to Lav Coles, who got tackled fairly deep in Indy territory.
