ROCK THE VOTE!!!Stupid profs scheduling tests and meetings on election day, what they heck are they thinking (though one, of course not any of mine, did cancel her class told the kids to go vote. Gotta love it)No matter. Got a couple of calls that energized me last night, including a missed call from the OG herself. So at the instead of the day, let's hope that we change from YES WE CAN to YES WE DID!!!
Bill Clinton called to tell me where my polling place was! Now I didn't need the help seeing as I vote at a firehouse that is literally a block away, but for some reason, thinking of Bill recording a message about a polling place in my small town makes me smile.
My parents told me the same thing about Hilary and Michelle Obama calling. Almost makes me wish I'd kept my phone plugged in.Just voted an hour ago. I was a little worry, since it's raining here since people tend to stay home. But there was a nice line waiting for polling to open, which gives me hope of NC. I was the 34 voter in my precinct.
I was at the Obama west Houston field office by 6:30 this morning. Reports of decent sized lines at tradtionally democratic locations already - hopefully a good sign.
On the flip side of the voter turnout issue...My mom reported a long line waiting at her polling place before it opened at 7 am and then abnormally high traffic throughout the morning. The problem? Our part of Central PA is a Republican stronghold. In fact, people around here are so pro-McCain that I questioned why they held a rally at Hershey last week, because it's sort of like preaching to the converted. But I suppose that team needs its ground game too.We will fight the good fight here in H-town though...
Wait, this post isn't about Coach Cut saying he's staying? Not since Jimmy Chitwood said it was about time to start playing ball again has an announcement excited the masses so much.
Congrats Sports Gal and Franchise way to come through. We'll see if Undude and myself can step up. It's gonna be close. In good news looks like Dole is out as senator.
I was nervous, no question. I don't know if NC will fall our way or not, but at least it's a contest.
Agreed. In some ways it's already a victory in that NC is so close. Though I still want it badly. It'd be a shame to make it this close and not pull it out.
Ohio is blue! It's not over but the fat lady is warming up her voice!
Exactly. Can't count the chickens yet, but you got to figure Cali goes blue, and that's 55 right there. WA and Ore would then put us over the top.
Just picked up Iowa too.
I'd like to see NC and VA go blue just for the symbolism.
Sing now fat lady! Cali and the West represent for President Obama!
YES!!!!!!!Get the #@$@ out Bush and company!!!(By the way, I've enjoyed the two-man live blog.)
Got VA too.
NC still too close to call?
Yeah. He's up by about 14 k with 98% of the precincts in.Still got the fingers crossed.
Well if none of these news stations/pundits will do it,I'm calling NC for Obama.(looks like it moves to automatic recount but he's up 12k w/ supposedly all precincts reporting in)Good night all and what a good night it was.Yes We Did!
